It was the first time in many years that I had been to Grouse Gap Snopark, which is located at the far end of the Mount Ashland Ski Area parking lot. It was quite early and the quiet of the snow was soothing to the senses. Luckily my friend had an extra set of gloves for me, since I absently-mindedly forgotten mine on the table by the front door at home. Once we got skiing, the going was fun. The snow was nice and slick because it was very early and rather cold. It's truly exhilarating! We sat on a bench in the sunshine at the Grouse Gap Shelter about two miles from the trailhead, and enjoyed some steaming coffee. We are so fortunate to have so many accessible outdoor recreation options in So. Oregon!
I did however, peruse some wonderful gifts online today. These gifts range from personal and practical to exquisitely unique. First off is the Clarins FEED set, $90, at Bloomingdales. Each bag provides twenty-five school meals to the United Nations World Food Programme. I love Clarins, and this set has amazing added value of giving to those in need.
